LOS ANGELES – In a partnership announced today (Aug. 23), Old Dominion Freight Line has become the official freight carrier of USC Athletics. The multi-year sponsorship combines two organizations known for excellence.

“We are thrilled to announce our newest partnership with Old Dominion Freight Line,” said USC Athletic Director Mike Bohn. “Old Dominion has a storied history of providing world-class services in the freight shipping and logistics industries. Our shared values and drive for excellence serve as a robust foundation for a strong and sustainable partnership. We are incredibly grateful to Old Dominion for its commitment to our student-athletes, university, and community.”

Old Dominion’s integrated agreement and designation as USC’s Official Freight Carrier began July 1, 2022. The partnership provides the leading less-than-truckload (LTL) motor carrier access to USC Athletics events, hospitality and customer activation opportunities.

“We are proud to partner with a premier athletic department like USC, as its drive for excellence aligns with our winning culture at OD,” said Dick Podiak, vice president of marketing and communications for OD. “We know it takes a lot of hard work to be the best in the game, so we’re proud to support the Trojans’ student-athletes, who are striving to be the best in theirs.”

Old Dominion Freight Line, based in Thomasville, N.C., handles LTL freight shipments throughout North America, focusing on on-time, damage-free deliveries. Shippers and industry experts consistently regard OD as one of the best-run trucking companies because of its operational efficiencies and commitment to premium service. Additionally, Old Dominion has a track record of being the No. 1 national LTL carrier for service for 12 years in a row, according to Mastio & Company.

“We are proud to welcome Old Dominion Freight Line into USC Athletics’ corporate partnership program in supporting USC student-athletes and marketing OD’s freight shipping and logistics services to the Trojan faithful,” said Drew DeHart, vice president/general manager of USC Sports Properties and Playfly Sports.
