YouTube Illegally Auto-Renews ‘Premium’ Subscriptions, Suit Says

Alphabet Inc. unit YouTube LLC violates Oregon law by automatically renewing paid subscriptions to ad-free, “premium” music, television, and video streaming services without adequate consumer notice and consent, two subscribers say in a proposed class action.YouTube’s cancellation process is so confusing that plaintiff Victor Walkingeagle was unable to cancel and is still being charged, and the other subscriber, Nathan Briggs, had to cancel his debit card to stop the recurring monthly charges, according to the complaint.
