Andrew Gresel, the 2016 champ, finished fourth and remains in second spot, now 14 points behind Fitzpatrick. Steckly and Gemmell are tied for third at 18 points behind the leader with five of nine races left. Andrew Ferreira used a bump and run to win the Qwick Wick super stock series race over fellow Delaware regulars Trevor Collver and Ryan Dyson on Canada Day. Collver, currently first in points, subsequently was put on probation by the United Racing Series until Dec. 31, 2022, under general Rule 1.7 that states “any abuse of any (series) official or host track official at any time is strictly prohibited.” FC LONDON: Julia Benati scored in the 90th minute to lead the FC London women to a 1-0 victory over North Mississauga SC Saturday at the Hellenic Community Centre. Article content Benati has 11 goals in 13 games and is tied with several players, including former teammate Kayla McQueen of Electric City, for the scoring lead atop League1 Ontario women’s premier division. FC London remains in first place with an 11-2-2 record. They travel to St. Catharines Sunday for a 2 p.m. start. The men’s team, currently 2-8-3, is home to ProStars FC Saturday (7 p.m.) at the Hellenic Community Centre. NEW BOSS: John Stevenson has been named the new head coach of the Fanshawe Falcons men’s and women’s cross country program. The former coach of the Centennial College Colts has been involved with the London Western track and field club for the past 14 years, is involved with Athletics Ontario and is head coach for Team Canada open athletics for the 2022 Maccabi Games.
